total gym 1000/1500 exercise manual, pdf download i got a cheap total gym 1500 recently, and was looking for the original exercise manual but couldn’t find any free downloads online, but plenty of inofficial paid options.
here’s the link to a “total gym shaper” exercise booklet, which as far as i can tell is identical to the 1000/1500 version – and it’s free: total gym shaper exercise booklet 2012

bike09 part 3: spain – punctures, detours, and explosions (a two-wheeled muscle-powered race from austria to spain)

almost drove onto the autopista - no bikes allowedpreviously, on thinkoholic.com…

in the long long ago (a.k.a. 2009), my parents, little brother and i embarked on a small adventure through europe.
our goal was to get to denia (spain) right from our doorstep in rum/innsbruck (austria), using only our bicycles, while keeping the budget as low as possible. to make things a bit more interesting, we split up into two teams racing each other: team 1 (mom and dad) took a route through italy and france, team 2 (anton and i) went through switzerland and france. the team that arrived at our destination first, would win.
we sent a postcard home every few days to record our progress along the 2200 km journey and prove when we were where.

…here’s part three of our adventure: teams one and two – anton and i, reunited with our parents – cycling south from figueres, spain (near the french border) south towards our destination, dénia.

the things we do to our feet [lytro]

what fascinates me most about rock climbing, is that i learned to use parts of my body for the activities they weren’t originally made for (or were made for, depending on how far you look back). for example, squeeze two neighbouring fingers into a small crack in the middle of a rock face, twist your hand slightly, and see how these two fingers can support your entire body’s weight without problems! (disclaimer: try at your own risk!)

here are some lytro living pictures from a recent visit to tivoli kletterzentrum, innsbruck.
as always, click to refocus, click&drag to shift perspective.

figl fun: firn gliding at seegrube, innsbruck

[posted: ]  [0 comments]

we recently spent the most perfect figl-sunday at seegrube, just above innsbruck.

figln (firn gliding, de: firngleiten) is a fun, regional sport that was, apparently, invented here in innsbruck in the 1950s. firn gliders are essentially short skis with a length of exactly 63 cm, where the binding is aligned with the very end of the board. the sport requires firn, the semi-liquid top layer of melting snow, which limits the activity to a few sunny days (or weeks) in spring, when there’s still enough snow around.

it’s A LOT of fun for everybody!
in the course of the day, the main figl routes turn into deep, curvy trenches that are even more fun to figl down in.

big thanks to bridget from windsor, for stopping, turning around, and offering to fix my flat tire in the middle of nowhere, just because!
this kind of open, friendly helpfulness is what i’ve come to know as very typical for australians!
