it’s nice there are so many words for one state of being.
i’ve been getting more and more irritable over the past few days, and now i’m just an inch from the point where the wrong person crossing my path is likely to suffer injury.
however, if you’re reading this, there’s a 99% chance that this doesn’t apply to you.
last summer, lisi brought me a special souvenir from her south-america-travels: original prime peruvian llama milk chocolate.
i had it sitting on my desk for some time and didn’t dare to open it (i also have a t-shirt from new zealand that i haven’t worn once, because i don’t want it to wear off…), but finally tasted it this spring.
it turns out peruvian chocolate blocks are somewhat bigger than they are here… in fact, they’re so big you can hide behind them ;-)

i wanted to write how today (in the morning) i was reminded of my kakapo experience in new zealand, and (in the evening) of that special hike to lake tagimaucia on taveuni .
i wanted to upload a few impressions from scheffau and the region south of the “wild emperor” (wilder kaiser) mountains.
i wanted to talk about the coolness of time dilatation and its role in (microbat) ultrasound recording.
i wanted to complete this sen… .
by now, i’m too tired for any of this.

… Partly it has great practical value – you can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakfrafoon; use it to sail a mini-raft down the slow heavy river Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (a mindboggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can’t see it, it can’t see you – daft as a brush, but very very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.
