these days i learned about “super macro” – a technique that allows you to get even closer macro pictures by *reversely* attaching a standard 35mm lens. that way, your pictures seem to get microscopic!
depth of field is microscopic as well, btw. :???:

so i had a few testshots where i only held the lense in front of my f-717 and here’s the first results.
@fingerprint pictures: note the pores on my finger’s underside!
@text picture: this is a shot of a 2L coke bottle, the “big” letters (k, t, …) are about 1 mm in height!

i’ve just released the latest photo-update.
i haven’t really had any good, creative photosessions lately – mostly because of a lack of time and energy.
most of the new photos were done for some sort of request.

i’ve also uploaded two live-recordings of that funeral on september 15th. i was singing there with “collegium vocale” – a great nearby choir that i wish i could take part in…
*thinking about time and energy again…*
i must state that i made those recordings with my mp3-player, which did a great job considering that it was actually designed for playing mp3s… anyway, i have activated a setting that allows the microphone to adjust itself to the surrounding volume, so it might take away some effects like dynamics and stuff. but it’s great if you have no idea how loud it’s gonna get…

first of all: i just released the pictures!

there are some other things/photo explanations i wanted to add to my holidays in spain…

due to their apparent addiction to mountains, tyroleans just can’t stay away from them. to abide the stereotype, we decided to go to mount montgó, near denia (see part 2). it’s only 800 meters (2600 ft) high, but still it was a nice forenoon-trip – not very exhausting though..
the interesting thing is that once we reached the plateau, every not-overgrown part of soil was covered with snail-shells.

we also went to a cave called “cueva de les calaveres”. the legend says that the moorish king what’s-his-name ali-moho was once living inside the cave with a harem of 400 women. sounds pretty depletive

in part 3 there’s a picture of luis’ car that we used in spain (he has it down there permanently). right after that one picture i took of it, it broke! the battery suddenly was so empty that even the “door-open”-lights stayed dark. so after lots of asking people for jump start we got to drive for about 10 minutes. then, the motor died off again (when we were standing at a red light). it took us some time to find another friendly spanish man who had jump-start-wires AND wanted to help us. we barely got to our accomodation – the motor stalled right when we were rolling up the driveway…
still, in my opinion it was a fun evening – talking to so many people.

be sure to check out the (very short) spanish folklore-samples recorded!

[lyrics quote of the moment]
and you’re thinking about how someone died that day
the you that was so carefully planned
but then again maybe this life is like a sleeping mountain
waking up to shape the land

i’m starting to choose the spain-photos now. might take some time, though.

[lyrics quote of the moment]
I just want to be living as I’m dying
just like everybody here
just want to know my little flicker of time is worthwhile
and I don’t know where I’m driving to
but I know I’m getting old
and there’s a blessing in every moment every mile

this evening i returned from my one-week-holiday in spain.
i headed to denia (near valencia) with my brother and two friends.
very nice climate down there – with (partly) more than 30° celsius ashore and 24° celsius in the sea. ;-) very very nice, considering that we left austria with snowy mountains!
we had a good time, met some very nice folks, and enjoyed summer – finally.

anyway, it took us some time to get spanish waitresses to smile, but we did succeed. :-)

it’ll take me some time to upload pictures, especially since i took a lot of nature shots.

more details later!

i’ve started catching up with older pictures… although this is the one and only post for today.

on september 17th i took a closer look at the wild sunflower that grows in our garden.
the weather was nice, by the way – easy to remember if there’s only like 4 nice days in august&september ;-)

and now, guess who’s going to spain :-)
