i realized that since we finished the pond two years ago, i never actually showed a “most-natural-processes-running-and-stable” status of it…
today i observed water striders feeding on insects that fell into the water. at the same time, dragonfly nyads got ready - and i got to watch one up-close which swam up and snapped to one of the striders. it felt like a miniature version of jaws…
since the water surface acts as a mirror, all you can see on the photo is the strider being pulled underwater.
