the manufacturer of the wireless remote-control jg-rc2 has asked for permission to host my cress-video on his official sample-page.
this is the first time-lapse video to appear on his website that was recorded with a sony-camera (a dsc-717, in this case) and the jg-rc2.

here’s a link that i found over in new zealand: (b)link
there’s so much potential in advertisements, it’s unbelievable how the bulk of them can still be that boring… isn’t it much more effective to create funny videos that everybody wants to watch?
in a completely unrelated subject: i was just reminded of that one episode called water park (1) of the show “malcolm in the middle”: the family goes to a water park without dewey, whose babysitter suffers from a heart-attack after dancing to abba’s song “fernando”, and dewey starts chasing after a balloon and ends up somewhere in chinatown…
i even found the dancing scene online:
[get the video] wmv, 3,28 MB
(did i mention i don’t take responsibility for external hyperlinks? well, just in case…)
ok, this is an older file, but it may be interesting anyway…
it was recorded in the night of january 31st and shows ME
more precicely, it shows my sleeping behavior from 00:30 to 06:30.

the file is hosted on a free-webspace account. on the one hand it has no traffic limitation, but on the other hand there are frequent downtimes/server overloads. so if the link doesn’t work, just try again after a minute or two.
i took the pictures in a 15-second-interval, but the video would have turned out 100 seconds long with a filesize of over 30MB. and that’s just not suitable for sharing on the internet…
i must say, since i’m the one shown in the video, i find it truly hilarious! can’t even say why, but i find it funny how much i exercise while i should be resting ;-)
besides: i find it interesting how i get more and more active towards morning hours…
my head is already bubbling with new ideas for time-lapse projects!
last week, a huge part of my life was made up by …cress. that’s right - lepidium sativum.
when i was talking about recording flowers opening etc., my little brother anton had the idea to record cress growing.
it’s perfect, because it develops from the seed to a 3 cm (~1 inch) high plant within just 4 to 5 days.
on the other hand, that would mean that i had to find a place with a nearby window that is completely unused (by people) over days - and it turned out to be my room.
i’m using my room only in the brief period from 5 to midnight, working 8 to 5 and sleeping 0 to 7…
(skip all of that and proceed to the files)
so i bought a pack of cress seeds on sunday and immediately built up the setting: [more...]
i’ve built in a little section called “blogs i read” in the right bar menu. it’s a selection of websites that i visit more or less regularly…
here are the websites that are featured for now:
i just stumbled across this headline in an agricultural magazine (for work):
(st. joseph fair in fag-ville)
another village that will never have a song written about it.
(referring to that “whose line is it anyway”-episode)
noted down yesterday, 2005-03-15 16:45:
- isn’t it wonderful - you’re standing at the train station and are listening to “mozarts piano concerto #25″, and just when the final solo is about to begin, an unbelievably loud train goes by and isn’t gone until right before the end of what should have been the solo…
minor linguistic challenges: when asked if i knew the ticket-fee for a trainride, i responded “i don’t know, i never take the *bus*.”
later, when i got home, i said “and for *postage*, i paid …” (i was, of course, referring to my trainride again)…
