jan 13th: meristem (little spot in the middle of the test tube) is placed on culture medium
feb. 4th: meristem has grown into a tiny shoot with discernible leaves
march 16th: meristem culture about two months after the procedure. development of root tissue.
april 21th: specimen can be identified as carnation (
dianthus sp.
) again.
april 21th: my whole sterile, closed system garden (meristem propagation of
dianthus sp.
and callus cells of
cichorium intybus
which have re-differentiated)
jan 24th 2010: dianthus sample turned upside down so it can grow "upwards" again. system is still sterile.
