in heimatseeker’s “Reason # 47 to move to New Zealand” she states that a google-search for “bush coronation” (“bush krönung”, in german) returned 145.000 results on january 20th.

it’s 175.000 by now – my site adding another search result ;-)

“have i started “excessively” using quote signs?”
“i “think” so!”

yesterday, stefan and lisa came over to play risk (the board game).
we never actually played risk, but instead started with scrabble, and played the settlers of catan later on.

scrabble turns out to be the number one word-creation game!
(i wonder why it took me that long to figure it out )
how about “sont” for example? i think it’s the perfect name for …well it’s definitely not a perfect name. but i really like it – it sounds so impressive!
i think my hamster will be named SONT (in capital letters). if i’ll ever have a hamster, anyway…

the name is ideal for use in sentences like “wow, SONT stopped the bank robbers and returned the money all by himself!”
and this is how easy you design a movie: we’ve got a hero (SONT, the hamster) and the main story line (SONT stopping a bankrobbery) – that movie could take on … even the original star wars trilogy!

well, enough creativity/stupidity (the line is thin) for today.

seems like i spend a lot of time on my own blog

i can feel my energy flowing again.
when i’m outside, i just can’t stop looking up (or into the distance) and smiling. some people are already looking back strangely, like they’re not sure whether i’m laughing at them or not.

speaking of laughing: today, when i was going by bus, i was listening to one of vienna teng‘s concert-tapings on my mp3-player. i had to laugh out loudly when i heard her stating that people kept asking her “that song’s about a prostitute, right?” when she was actually singing about her college roommate. what made me laugh, though, was her comment on that story: “i didn’t really mean to run that impression about my roommate!”

our family is kinda …weird!
just a minute ago, my parents realized (after i slightly pointed it out) that they had been watching tv with the audio channel for blind people. for half a year.
they just didn’t think about having more than one audio channel in digital tv.
my dad said that he had noted more and more movies had commentator-voices saying everything non-verbal that happened. “it’s for all the blind people!”

i couldn’t stop laughing!
so eventually, i switched it back to normal audio…

***edit***
another of today’s anectodes:
my grandma came over today. when my dad said he had heard that carrots have very positive effects on one’s eyesight, she said “well sure, or have you ever seen a monkey with glasses?”
i’ve known that joke since i can remember, and it is still funny in certain situations. it’s just that MONKEYs like BANANAs very much, not carrots.
(well, at least in the jokes and tv-shows they do)

there’s some fun stuff that i stumbled across in the last days:

this page says that NOLF is used as an abbreviation for:

Navy Outlying Field (depart of defense flight information publication)

No One Lives Forever (the famous game i never played)

Nursing Organization Liaison Forum

i think the last one is just great!

and i found this while surfing wildly through the net:
Hamlet in Ten Seconds
Forget READING Shakespeare – save some time by watching Hamlet in Ten Seconds!

you just have to see that!

44 to go!

this is funny:

yesterday i received an email of a very-remote-acquaintance who was seeking computer help.
her question was: “what should i do if i can’t get an internet connection?”

let’s back up here: she sent an email telling me that her internet-access didn’t work.

to be fair: there is a slim chance that she wanted to say something like “it works now, but what should i do if i ever don’t get a connection?”, but i don’t really think that’s the case here…
